Wireless Data Communication based on GPRS
|
Task: The infrastructure of a discharge treatment plant comprises
two substations (a S7-200 and a S7-300 substation): Both should communicate with
each other and with a control center. The Internet-based GPRS service, which
charges by data volume, should be used as a data transfer medium. The control
center should enable central operator control and monitoring. If required, it
should be possible to send a SMS to the servicepersonnel.
Solution: The automation solution uses the remote control system
SINAUT Micro SC with the MD720-3 GPRS modem
- to monitor and control process data from the remote stations (S7-200 and
S7-300) via the central station,
- to exchange process data between the remote stations.
Hardware setup:
The OPC server SINAUT MICRO SC is used as a platform for data exchange
with the remote stations. The central station communicates with the GPRS
stations via an Internet connection. WinCC flexible as an OPC client
allows for the visualization and control of the process data. Furthermore, the
values with a time stamp can be written in a CSV file.
