Service Pack 4 Update for STEP 7-Micro/WIN is now available. All customers using STEP 7-Micro/WIN V4.0.x should download and install the new SP4. 

PRODUCT MODIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

• Automatic Symbol Name Completion
  This feature helps you enter symbols into the program editor and status chart.

• Drag and Drop Symbol Names
  You can drag a symbol name from the symbol table, local variable table, or cross-reference table and then drop the symbol name into a program operand or another table.

• New Shortcut Keys for Symbol Names
  Use: F4 to Define a Symbol F5 to Edit a Symbol F6 to Select a Symbol Configuration Additions and Changes

• Communications Setup
  If a USB cable is detected the first time Micro/WIN is started, then USB communication will be selected automatically.
   

Service Pack 4 UPDATE - INSTALLATION NOTES:

• You must have administrator rights for the installation of the STEP 7-Micro/WIN software and also for setting up modules using the "Setting the PG/PC Interface" application.
• To be able to work with STEP 7-Micro/WIN software under Windows 2000 or XP, you must have logged on as a 'Power User'.
• Leave STEP 7-Micro/WIN installed on the system prior to launching the update.  The Service Pack installation program checks to see whether a valid STEP 7-Micro/WIN V4.0.x  is installed on the target system.
• Close all applications including the MS-Office Toolbar before installing the Service pack. Other applications that use the same set of system files must be closed in order for STEP 7-Micro/WIN updates to install properly.
• Installing this update will also update the Micro/WIN tools:  TD Keypad Designer and S7-200 Explorer.

Service Pack 4 UPDATE - DOWNLOAD AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1.      To download the file, click on the filename link below and select 'Save'.  You will be prompted for a directory in which to store the file.

2.      Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the directory where you saved the file and double click on the .exe file to start the installation.  

3.      You will be prompted to un-install Micro/WIN V4.0.x.  Without this step, the Service Pack cannot be installed properly!!!   

4.      After you are prompted to uninstall V4.0.x, Cancel the installation program.

5.      Open the PC Control Panel, select "Add or Remove Programs", and select to "Remove" STEP 7-Micro/WIN V4.0.x.

6.      Restart the installation, by clicking on the Setup.exe file located in the temporary subdirectory that was created in Step 1. 

7.      Follow the prompts displayed by the installation program.
